Student Technician Graduates – Congrats, Class of 2025!

Posted on — May 9, 2025

This May, Valley Plains Equipment is buzzing with energy—both in the fields and in the shops! We’re proud to welcome four Student Technician graduates from diesel tech programs into full-time roles with Valley Plains Equipment!

In May, fields begin to fill with new crops—and our shops welcome new faces! The Student Technician Internship program gives students the opportunity to learn, train, and grow alongside experienced service teams. After years of hard work, these students are graduating and becoming full-time Service Technicians at Valley Plains Equipment!

This year, four students graduate from two excellent programs:

LATC – TechKnowledge Program

The TechKnowledge program at Lake Area Technical College partners with John Deere dealerships (Valley Plains Equipment, Kibble Equipment, and Platte Valley Equipment) to deliver hands-on training with current equipment and diagnostic tools. Students rotate between classroom learning and paid dealership internships. After completing the program, many are offered full-time roles with their sponsoring dealer.

NDSCS – John Deere Technician Program

At North Dakota State College of Science, students split their time between the classroom, lab, and real-world dealership experience. The curriculum covers diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and advanced electronics. They also develop communication and customer service skills that are essential in the shop.

Graduation Date

These four graduates will walk across the stage on May 16, 2025 and will shortly join our shops – ready to work!
