Meet Chance Lahren: Welcoming a New Face to Valley Plains Equipment
At Valley Plains Equipment, we’re always excited to welcome talented individuals who bring experience, dedication, and a passion for the agricultural industry to our team. Today, we’re introducing Chance Lahren, one of the newest members of the VPE family!
A Passion for Mechanics
Originally from South Dakota, Chance brings nine years of experience in the repair industry. Throughout his career, he’s worked on just about everything, from cars and pickups to large four-wheel-drive tractors, combines, and heavy equipment.
Chance’s interest in equipment started long before his professional career. Growing up on his family’s ranch, he spent plenty of time operating machinery and getting familiar with the equipment that keeps agricultural operations running.
After graduating from Lake Area Technical Institute with a degree in Automotive Technology, Chance gained hands-on experience in automotive repair, equipment operation, and field service. Most recently, he worked as a Field Service Technician, diagnosing and repairing agricultural and construction equipment.
With his diverse background and ability to tackle a wide range of mechanical challenges, Chance brings valuable knowledge and experience to the VPE team.
More Than Just Turning Wrenches
For Chance, working with his hands doesn’t stop when the workday ends!
Outside of work, Chance enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons. As a family, they look forward to gardening in the spring and canning their homegrown produce in the fall.
When he’s not busy with family activities, you’ll likely find Chance working on one of his many projects. His hobbies include 3D printing, computer-aided design (CAD), metal machining, and restoring old garden tractors. He even enjoys designing and building custom attachments for his tractors!
And if that isn’t enough to keep him busy, Chance also spends time making performance modifications to his old pickups.
It’s clear that Chance has a genuine passion for understanding how things work, finding ways to improve them, and bringing his ideas to life.
